Dry weather is finally moving into the region, increasing sunshine will bring warmer temps and happier faces to the area over the next few days.

Today: Partly cloudy and warm with high temps near 89F, winds from the south-southwest around 12mph as overnight lows fall to the lower 70's.

Thursday: Partly cloudy and warm with high temps near 89F, winds from the southwest around 10mph as overnight lows will fall into the lower 70's.

Friday: Partly cloudy and warm with high temps around 89F, winds from the southwest near 8mph as overnight lows fall into the lower 70's.

Saturday-Sunday: More of the same with partly cloudy skies and high temps rising into the 90's with heat index values reaching the upper 90's. Plenty of sunshine and heat so make sure to take breaks and drink plenty of fluids.

TROPICS: We are watching an area of convection located over the Southwest Gulf of Mexico, this area is not well organized yet, however over the next few days we could be dealing with the first tropical of the season for the Atlantic.
