Welcome to another Biloxi Travel Blog,
Today we take an adventure back in time to the year of 2005 and Hurricane Katrina, the storm did so much damage to this area that some of it is still visible today. However, something good has come out of it.. The HWY 90 Art walk, I like to call it.
In the middle of the West bound and East bound lanes on HWY 90, there use to be large Oak Trees, however they were destroyed by the storm. Now if you take a walk down this path, you can see that the remains of the oak trees have been turned into Sculptures.
The sculpture walk starts beside the Welcome Center and head west. Each segment offers you an array of bird sculptures that have been designed out of the trees. There is no cost to walk this path, but its encouraged that you remain inside the gated areas for your safety from the traffic on both sides of the highway.
You will find many varieties of birds to view. This is a really neat piece of art work and lets people have a sense of relaxation as they walk by these statues.
Remember to best access this, you want to start on the east end down beside the Welcome Center.
