News to Use

The city is now accepting credit cards and online payment for water bills.

Customers now have the option of paying their monthly water bill with a credit card or electronic check at the water department office or online at the city web site.

A convenience fee of 2.95 percent will be charged plus 63 cents for credit cards or about $2.70 on a $70 water bill or a flat $2.50 fee for electronic checks.

Said Mayor Holloway,"These are services that have been requested in the past by our customers. We've tried to find a way to avoid charging a convenience fee but state law does not allow it. However, a service that some of our customers already use that's free is a bank draft service where customer's accounts can be automatically billed each month. Just drop by the water department on Main Street and they'll set it up with your bank."

To sign on to the city online water bill payment, click on the E-services link at the top left of any page on a city web site or click here to go directly to the website's E-services page.
