Billy Joel is hot on the comeback trail. Fresh off of accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Kennedy Center Honors in December, his first tour in seven years started Monday in New York which will take him all around the U.S. including a stop in Cleveland on April 1st.
While Joel is busy resurrecting hits and rarities in concert, Showtime is airing a documentary about the performer's trek to the USSR in 1988. Joel became the first U.S. musician to organize a concert in the former Soviet Union. The documentary looks back at the struggles and ultimate triumph that Joel encountered all those years ago.

Additionally, all of Joel's albums have now been mastered for iTunes. From his 1971 debut Cold Spring Harbor through 1993's River of Dreams as well as his 2001 release of classical music songs Fantasies & Delusions and unreleased songs from 2007's Collected Additional Masters.
Billy Joel was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
