Walt Disney World has announced that actor Billy Dee Williams is scheduled to appear at Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Williams portrayed smuggler turned city administrator Lando Calrissian in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. He will be signing autographs using the FASTPASS system, and will also be part of the Stars of the Saga presentation. Williams will be in Florida June 7, 8 and 9 for the annual event. The last time that he attended was in 2010.
Star Wars Weekends are held for four consecutive weekends in May and June at the park. In 2013 they will be held starting on May 17. The scheduled celebrity hosts, appearing each weekend, are Ashley Eckstein and James Arnold Taylor. Actor Ray Park, who played Darth Maul, will be appearing the first two weekends. The second and third weekends will feature actor Warwick Davis, who played Wicket W. Warrick.
The 2013 celebration will have a heavy emphasis on Return of the Jedi, to celebrate its 30th anniversary. There will be special characters and parades. Stars of the Saga features a question and answer segment with the celebrities. There are other special events as well. The lines grow long for Star Tours - The Adventures Continue. The evening ends with Hyperspace Hoopla, a song and dance party featuring characters from the films. All events are included in park admission.
