Actor Billy Connolly has had a long and quirky career, Starring in such films as; "The Boondock Saints I & II", "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties" and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events."
According to the WETA website, Connolly will be playing Dain Ironfoot, an elf warrior and cousin of Thorin Oakenshield.
Peter Jackson, director of "The Hobbit" is quoted as saying:
We could not think of a more fitting actor to play Dain Ironfoot, the staunchest and toughest of Dwarves than Billy Connolly, the Big Yin himself.
Connolly completes the cast of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"and "The Hobbit: There and Back Again," these films are being filmed back-to-back in New Zealand.
Billy has two films in post-productions, "Quartet' and 'Brave". He also has a film in turn around, "Glide".
"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" will be on screens December 14th 2012.
