The Billings Public Library continues to prepare for its upcoming move to a newly constructed building. It is holding an online auction to get rid of property that will not be transported to the new building. Bidding for the auction began on Sept. 29 and continues through Oct. 15.

The library is auctioning off a wide variety of property. Items up for bidding include office chairs, desks, bookcases, carts, office accessories, cabinets, cubicle systems, electronic, vertical and lateral files, shelves, portable partitions and more.

Those interested in the auctioned property can view it at one of three public inspections: Oct. 3, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.; Oct. 8, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.; Oct. 12, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Those who successfully bid on items must remove them on Oct. 16 or 17 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

This is the first of two planned online auctions to dispose of surplus property. The Billings Public Library intends to sell nearly all of its physical assets prior to the move to the new building. The new library is expected to be completed and opened by the end of 2013.
