Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong shocked everyone yesterday by announcing that he and Norah Jones have recorded a duets album together. The album entitled “Foreverly” is a tribute to the Everly Brother's 1958 record “Songs Our Daddy Taught Us.” In a press release, Armstrong says the record came about after he discovered “Songs Our Daddy Taught Us” a few years ago. When discussing the decision to record with Norah Jones, Armstrong states "I thought of Norah because she can sing anything, from rock to jazz to blues," he says, "and I knew her harmonies would be amazing." The duo released the first single from the album “Long Time Gone” online for streaming.
“Foreverly” will be released November 25 via Reprise Records. You can pre-order the album now. To learn more about the record and to make sure you get your copy, visit the duo's official website.
