Bill Parcells’ revelations concerning past Dolphins’ draft picks turns heads

Former Dolphins’ vice-president of football operations Bill Parcells is making waves after revealing his regrets on drafting certain players, including Pat White and Jake Long.

Parcells was with the organization from 2008 through 2010, and during those years he was integral in the decisions to draft tackle Jake Long over Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan in 2008, and picking former quarterback Pat White in the second round in 2009.

Pat White was an eventual bust while Jake Long became a three-time pro-bowl selection. Nevertheless, the decision to draft Ryan over Long still irks Parcells, considering Ryan’s amazing success in Atlanta.

Parcells also told the Miami Herald he regrets selecting quarterback Chad Henne in 2008, considering Miami’s woes over the past two years.

He also said the Dolphins violated their principles concerning their draft philosophy since they selected Pat White merely because of the idea he could run the wildcat versus the main attributes which indicates a quarterback’s success.
