Bill O’Reilly releasing book ‘Killing Jesus: A History,’ with coauthor in Sept.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly has put pen to paper once again and this time the book he had penned covers the most famous death in history, that of Jesus Christ. According to a Feb.21 report on The Washington Post, “Killing Jesus: A History” will be published on Sept. 24.

This is not O’Reilly’s first foray into the world of publishing. He has released two other books selling millions of copies, on the subject of the assassinations of Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy.

Both books were co-written with Martin Dugard who co-wrote “Killing Jesus” as well. The book is being published by Henry Holt and Co.

The new host has also written other best-selling books, both alone and in conjunction with other authors. Among them are “Pinheads and Patriots” and “A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity.”

Henry Holt and Co. released the following press release saying the book is expected to:

“ ...tell the story of Jesus of Nazareth as a beloved and controversial young revolutionary brutally killed by Roman soldiers. O’Reilly will recount the seismic political and historical events that made his death inevitable, and the changes his life brought upon the world for the centuries to follow.

“Jesus Christ has not walked among us physically for more than two thousand years, yet his presence today is felt the world over and his spirit is worshipped by more than 2.2 billion people,” said O’Reilly. “His teachings, his legacy, his life as a flesh-and-blood man, and his death created the world in which we live.”

O’Reilly started out as a news reporter in the 1970s and ‘80s before becoming the news anchor for Inside Edition in 1989. In 1996, he moved to Fox and anchored the show that became “The O’Reilly Factor” which still airs today.
