Bullying his guests and shouting like a raving lunatic is a trait Bill O’Reilly is known for on his show, “The O’Reilly Factor” . The guy appears to have major anger management issues often going off like a hapless baboon on his guests. His latest victim was guest liberal Alan Colmes. O’Reilly went ballistic on Colmes last night screaming at him to identify spending cuts that President Obama has proposed. He shouted at Colmes, "Give me one damn program he said he'd cut!". So Colmes highlighted Medicare and Medicaid as two programs the President has proposed cutting. But that wasn’t good enough for the angry Fox News host calling him a liar and replying "That's bull@#$%!! O’Reilly repeatedly claimed that Obama hasn't proposed specific cuts to replace the across-the-board cuts known as the sequester.
But Alan Colmes was absolutely correct. President Obama has proposed cuts to Medicare and Medicaid as part of his plan to replace the sequester. The President has proposed $400 billion in cuts to federal health spending, which includes a $140 billion reduction in "payments to drug companies" and a $25 billion reduction for Medicaid and affiliated program.
This type of behavior is nothing new at Fox News. The M.O of their cable news hosts is to spin, lie, mislead, yell, scream, whatever it takes, to make Obama look bad. Their absolute hatred against the President is routinely displayed on a daily basis. In O’Reilly’s case, add a career that appears to be on the downslide with the ratings falling like a rock, so you can understand why he's extra irritated. O'Reilly and and the other buffoon host who immediately follows the factor, Sean Hannity, both saw huge drops in February for the all-important 25-54 demo from the same point in 2012. O'Reilly fell 26 percent and Hannity fell a staggering 35 percent.
Fox may need to make some major changes. You can expect more blow-ups from O’Reilly if his ratings continue to drop and fewer people willing to go on this show to get berated. Hannity’s rating will drop too if people like Congressman Keith Ellison continue punching holes in his credibility pointing out he’s the poorest excuse as a journalist he’s ever seen.
O’Reilly owes Colmes an apology. O'Reilly got schooled and had nothing to respond with, so he turned to yelling and swearing. That's the mark of one who has lost the argument. Colmes should have walked off the set calmly after being screamed at and called a liar, and then waited outside and punched him in the mouth.
