On Tuesday night this week, Bill O’Reilly erupted at guest Alan Colmes, one of FOX News’ liberal commentators, for lying in response to his question. Colmes opened his remarks by claiming that Obama has repeatedly attempted to negotiate with Congress. Colmes ignores the facts that Obama had a Supermajority the first two years and locked Republicans out of debate over bills, especially ObamaCare, and during the last two years refused to talk to them. Obama has constantly blamed Republicans for every ill in the country because of tax cuts for the rich and says he is working to make everything better by taxing the rich much more.
Republicans have argued that they gave Obama his tax raises and now expect him to do some tax cuts. Obama has run a $1.3 trillion deficit for four straight years driving the National Debt to over $16 trillion. He now demands more tax hikes and Republicans refuse until he makes spending cuts. When Alan Colmes says Obama already made cuts to Medicare, O’Reilly blew a gasket at Colmes repeatedly shouting at him as a liar. Colmes said, like Obama, he told no lie.
The mistake O’Reilly made is asking the question, “What program did Obama cut?” To which Colmes answered, “Entitlements” referring to the president’s cutting fraud from Medicare. For this half-truth to deceive the people watching, O’Reilly called Colmes out on the carpet and lay into him.
Like the president’s tax cuts for the middle class, which were all temporary and have been reinstated, the spending cut from Medicare was taken and spent on ObamaCare. So while a program was cut, no spending cuts have been made by the Obama Administration. Obama says he will reduce the deficit this year from $1.3 trillion to $850 billion including the sequester cuts, but still no House budget has been passed and for the fifth year the Democrat Senate will vote on C.R.s to fund the government at the end of March and any cuts remain to be seen.
