The nation is much abuzz over the recent 'gay' marriage debate exercised within the Supreme Court, and throughout the airwaves of every major television, radio, and social communication network. Social and political elites, such as Bill O'Reilly of the Fox News Network, have laid claims to the supremacy of the clarity of the message of those who support gay marriage. For O'Reilly, and those who do not understand or respect Christian faith and theology, not to mention 2,000 years of unbroken tradition, anything of an argument that rings of God is unworthy of public discourse.
Therefore, compelled to offer a rational argument for traditional marriage, and against gay marriage and its inherent dangers to American society, I humbly offer you five concise, pertinent, and vital thoughts.
1) Natural Law has been well respected, and in existence to the minds of the openly rational, for centuries. Within the framework of the natural law revealed within our universe, gay marriage--that between two men, or between two women--is against the laws of nature precisely because it is against the openness to life. Extinction, through a slow demographic winter, can only follow a society that does not propagate its species!
2) Gay marriage is both psychologically and sociologically deviant. Psychologically, it is the selfishness of the human person to go with his or her desires and emotions over any respect for well grounded traditions in society. Gay marriage denies truth to tradition, religion, and says 'all be damned' in my pursuit of happiness. Sociologically, gay marriage sets up a divide between men and women, as gay couples of the male persuasion live separate from their gay counterparts of the opposite sex, in effect, setting up a male-gay versus female gay divide. The complementarity of the sexes is destroyed!
3) Gay marriage opens Pandora's Box! If gay people can marry, why not multiple couples, why not men and boys, why not women and girls, why not humans and animals? This is not a disrespectful wise crack! This is the possibility in the ever expanding expression of loose 'liberty!'
4) How can two men understand the physical and emotional needs of a little girl? And the same applies to women toward boys. How can a boy raised by two men understand women? The same applies to women. Facts are facts, children need both the maternal and paternal presence in their developing lives! Effeminate men aren't maternal; rugged women aren't paternal. Nature cannot be manipulated.
5) Thump, thump, thump! Finally, God has His say. 2,000 years of Christian tradition, not to mention 4,000+ years of Jewish tradition, speaks of the value and preciousness of traditional marriage. Gay marriage, as expressed by a Supreme Court Justice, is younger than cell phone technology! Gay marriage, moreover, is a hijacking of the American way, superseding the tradition of others for a relativistic way where majority, however dysfunctional, rules! This is the way of the Nazis, and the Stalinists, and is the way of the Communist Chinese.
Is it the new American way?
