"Dancing With the Stars" had its second elimination round on Sept. 30, 2013. For this round, they kicked Bill Nye 'the Science Guy' and Tyne Stecklein out of the competition. Last week, Bill injured his knee when he stepped on his pant leg and tripped at the end of the couple’s paso doble routine. However, he didn't let that stop him from continuing on in the competition.
Bill and Tyne took the news well. They were happy for the chance to compete. Realty TV World reports that Bill said, "There's people here who are working so hard and are so good. You see how they are improving every week. I'm not going to be able to keep up for that, but what breaks my heart is Tyne's not going to be able to stay in. She's fantastic, you guys. Thank you all very much. Thanks for keeping me in even this long. Some people are extraordinary. It's really been cool. It's been a great experience."
Tyne said that she was going to miss Bill's sense of humor. There is a chance she may even miss his science facts. This was Tyne's first season in the competition.
Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein tied for last place with Valerie Harper and Tristan MacManus. Each couple earned 16 out of 30 points. Viewers will have to wait until next week to see if Valerie and Tristan make it through without being the next couple eliminated on "Dancing With the Stars."
