Bill Maher donates $1 million to Obama campaign

In a surprising, but perhaps not unexpected move, Bill Maher donated a whopping $1 million to Priorities USA Action Super PAC, which supports the reelection of President Obama. According to CBS News, the donation occurred in a live streaming broadcast of "StupidCrazyPolitics" in which Maher presented an oversized $1 million check.

Super PACS have come under fire during this election season. Maher has been very critical of Super PACS on his show "Real Time with Bill Maher". Super PACS can raise millions of dollars which then can be channeled with unlimited restrictions to help finance political campaigns.

Maher is not the only comedian involved with Super PAC contributions. Stephen Colbert also is well known for founding the Super PAC, Making a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow.
