The town formerly known as Bankersmith, Texas is located five miles from Luckenbach and 10 minutes from Fredericksburg. It was purchased in July 2012 by Doug Guller the founder and CEO of Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill, one of the nation’s fastest growing sports bar and grill chains.
He renamed it Bikinis, Texas after the restaurant and made “The Most Beautiful Place On Earth” the town slogan. Beginning on Friday January 17 it will be open to the public every Friday through Sunday from noon to midnight. “Güller Hall” will be hosting great artists playing a wide variety of music from country to rock and roll.
Guests to Guller’s “chick” ranch will be able to see “Wild” Bill the mayor and only resident of Bikinis, Texas as he oversees the town’s functions. He occupies his time by writing the Bikinis Bill of Rights, taking care of “Fred” the town’s goat mascot and hiring bikini-clad constables for the town’s big events.
The town was founded in 1913 when the railroad came to town and the population grew to 50 in the 1920s. Eventually people left in search of jobs and the population decreased to only 10. The old railroad tunnel is now a man-made sanctuary for thousands of birds.
