This may seem scary for some of us (myself included), but our purpose is to overcome that fear with the good company of others and to inspire the rest of the community to do the same.
Think of it like a Zombie Walk, but instead we're in swimwear. A walk with a reason, filled with all kinds of beautiful women and men of various appearances and backgrounds for body acceptance!
If anyone would like to help plan this event please contact me (Mary Jane).
If it gets big we may need to get it cleared by the city, but considering the Zombie Walk, Hash Bash and the Naked Mile, I doubt this would get a lot of resistance.
Wearing a bikini in plain view does sound scary, but there's also safety and strength in numbers.
Please share this event and invite your friends. The more people involved the stronger the message!
Q: "Do I have to wear bikini?"
A-1: This is definitely a no-pressure event. No one has to do anything they aren't comfortable with. Just be there and support the cause!
A-2: Bikinis are encouraged, all suits are encouraged! If you just want to show support for everyone else, but not participate I won't stop you, but it is about overcoming your fears, like skydiving. So I hope you do wear one. =]
Even showing up in clothes still adds to the mass, while it may tone down the message.
Final answer: Just don't go naked. 'cause we can't keep you from getting arrested if you do.
