Reality TV star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi shows off her slimline bikini body in the new issue of Us Weekly, where she reveals her diet and workout secrets.
"I feel great," Snooki told Us. "I have a lot of energy because I work out so much and the endorphins put me in a good mood. And when you're skinnier, you feel so much better about yourself."
The 4-foot-9 Snooki, who gave birth to son Lorenzo in August 2012, slimmed down from 144 pounds to 102, thanks to a low-calorie diet and regular gym workouts. Polizzi lost the first 20 pounds from breastfeeding and shed the rest by following a 1,300-calorie-a-day diet and working out with a trainer four days a week.
"I've been trying go [to the gym] every day, but it's usually four days a week," says Snooki, 25. "I don't like doing legs; that's the worst. But I like when he works my arms. Now when I hold Lorenzo, you can see my arm muscles."
While Polizzi had initially tried to limit her pregnancy weight gain to 25 pounds, she put on 42 because she indulged every junk-food craving during her third trimester.
"The last three months of my pregnancy, I was like, 'F**k it, I'll eat what I want,' " she recounts. "So I ate everything: brownies, cookies, pasta and a lot of cheese."
When she got serious about losing the baby weight, Snooki signed up for a 1,300-calorie-a-day meal delivery service.
"When I started working with [my trainer] Anthony, he put me on his Express Home Meals," she says. "I eat things like a burger wrapped in lettuce or a salad with strawberries and chicken."
In addition to streamlining her diet, Snooki has overhauled her entire lifestyle since becoming a parent. Polizzi, a former party animal who was arrested in 2010 for drunk and disorderly conduct, no longer drinks to excess and enjoys quiet evenings at home.
"When you have a baby everything changes," says Snooki, who's engaged to wrestling coach Jionni LaValle, 25. "Instead of wanting to go out all the time to drink, I just want to stay at home and be with the baby."
Polizzi lost the baby weight to be healthy, but also to prove that motherhood can be sexy. "I lost it for me," she says. "But I also wanted Jionni to know that I can be hot as a mom.
"I want my upper legs to be more toned. And my boobs are messed up. In a bra, they look good, but when I take it off, they're all floppy. I can't wait to get a boob job when I'm done having kids."
