When bikers attacked an SUV with a man and his family inside, the man got scared and pulled away. This happened as near 30 bikers surrounded his car, refusing to get out of the way. According to the Christian Science Monitor on Oct. 1, this man just kept on going to save his family, running over two from the crowd of bikers surrounding him.
Now one of the two bikers, who was run over by this man trying to get his family out of harm’s way, may end up a paraplegic. The man has two broken legs and may never regain use of the legs again. This incident was videotaped by a passerby.
It all started when the man, his wife and toddler were riding down the highway and one of the bikers appeared to be playing chicken with the man. He stops his bike in front of the SUV. The driver lightly bumped the bike with his vehicle, in what looked like an accident. This started what appeared to be lynching mob of bikers wanting to get this man.
The bikers gave chase for 50 blocks on a NYC highway and finally slashed the man’s tires making him pull over to the side of the road. They pulled the man out of the car and beat him. This was still being videotaped. Some of the bikers are believed to be gang members and they relentlessly pursued this SUV. This harrowing chase was terrifying for the young family inside the SUV.
The man who was driving the SUV did not face any charges. The man who initially slowed his bike down in front of the SUV, appearing as if he was daring the SUV driver to hit him, was arrested. He is the only one out of the 20-30 bikers facing charges so far. The man driving the SUV was taken to the hospital and he received stitches in his face and he was banged up and bruised from the bikers.
The debate is on, should the man in the SUV face charges after running the two men over. One biker had two broken legs and the other has a leg injury. Was the father within his right to flee the area anyway he could to protect his wife and child? What do you think?
