Forest City Fundo
Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 28, 2014 for the first ever, inaugural, never been done before, super unique “Forest City Fundo”. What exactly is a “Forest City Fundo”? It is a fully supported urban ride on fully marked courses of 10, 32 and 62 miles designed to show Cleveland in all its urban splendor as well as encourage Clevelanders to get out and get healthy.
During the ride there will be rest stops along the plainly marked courses as well as bike mechanics on call “just in case”. At the end of the ride you will be able to rest and refresh (in Cleveland that means beer) on the shores of Lake Erie at Edgewater Park at the NeoCycle Hub. There will be food trucks, beer and rock and roll. What more can you ask for? Register today for the Forest City Fundo.
Forest City Fundo has a ride designed for everyone including beginner, intermediate or seasoned pro (ala Lance). Here are the three rides that have been designed with you in mind.
Family Ride is up to 10 miles of open road riding with a water stop located at Lincoln Park in the Tremont Neighborhood. The ride begins at “The Hub” at Edgewater Park.
The Half Metric Century is designed for those wanting to see more of Cleveland’s unique neighborhoods. Starting at “The Hub” at Edgewater Park this ride weaves its way along lower traffic streets through Cleveland’s Lakefront Bikeway, east side, south side and near west side. Ride at your own pace and tackle a few mild hills. There are rest stops placed strategically along the route. Grab a bunch of friends or work mates for a fun ride.
No doubt about it, the Metric Century ride is designed for the experienced riders that really want to push themselves. At 62 miles (100km) it is Cleveland from east to west. The trip begins at “The Hub” at Edgewater Park and goes through a plethora of unique Cleveland neighborhoods. It also will take you up some of Cleveland’s steepest hills in and out of the Rocky River Valley. This is not a ride for the faint of heart.
The Forest City Fundo is a fundraising event for Bike Cleveland. WA tremendous amount of hard work will go in to insure that every rider at the event has a great time.
