Ride for Miles
This Sunday, September 15, 2013 will be the 6th annual “Ride For Miles”. The event will start at 10:00 a.m. on the campus of John Carroll University’s Dolan Science Center where is will end as well. The “Ride For Miles” is a fifteen mile ride in honor of Miles Coburn who was hit in August of 2008 while riding his bike.
Pre-registration for the ride is $25 or $28 on the day of the event. Proceeds from the ride will go to expand environmental and bicycle education. All participants will receive a “Ride For Miles” custom T-shirt as well as food from over a dozen Heights merchants. Following the ride will be live music from some of the top bands of the region as well as prizes. The route will go through the rolling hills of Cleveland’s eastern suburbs. Volunteers Needed for Ride for Miles
Ride organizers are looking for a few more volunteers to help the day of the ride. if you or anyone you know would like to volunteer sign-up at RideForMiles.org. Volunteers will get a free Ride for Miles T-shirt.
Family Friendly Kidical Mass is Saturday
Looking for a fun, safe and short ride to introduce your children to bicycle safety? Join Bike Cleveland, Near West Familes Network and Ohio City Bicycle Co-op for “Kidical Mass”. Bring the entire family to Herman Park (located at W. 58th St. and Herman) in Detroit Shoreway at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14. Prior to the ride a safety demonstration will be put on by OCBC followed by the three mile ride around the neighborhood. The ride will end at Herman Park where cookies will be served.
Bike helmets are required for all riders and waivers will be available to be filled out at the park prior to the ride. In case of heavy rain the event will be rescheduled. Follow the event on Facebook for all the details and latest updates. Download the event flyer to help spread the word.

Laugh Strong: Tour de Comedy
Laugh Strong is four comedians: Dean Masello, Adam Sokol, Christian Polanco, and Max Boyajian who bike through Cleveland to perform at local clubs. Join them at ReddStone (located at 1261 W. 76th Street, Cleveland, Ohio) on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance ($15 at the door).
