On tonight’s “Biggest Loser” Ruben and Rachel revisited the sports that gave them joy in high school. Ruben got his football jersey and Rachael got back into a swimsuit and a pool – big achievements for both of them. But will one of these gym class heroes go home this week? Read on …
We finally got the end to that cliffhanger from last week – someone else was going home but it’s not what you think. One contestant will get to go home for the week and they get to take their trainer with them. That’s great for them but it stinks for their team – they’ll be trainer-less for the week. And that person’s weight will count for the entire team at the weigh-in.
Everyone put their picture on a big wheel and Alison set that wheel in motion. The arrow fell on Jay and he was thrilled. He really wants his family to see his 78-pound weight loss. Jillian was concerned for the rest of the white team but Jay is psyched for him and Jillian to head to Farmington, Mo.
Quote of the week, from one of Jay’s loved ones: “Hey, Jay – do you have to wear the hat all the time?”
Holley’s update on her weight was exciting – she’s down to 160 pounds and is lifting even heavier than she did when she weighed more. She’s shooting for the 2016 Olympics and looks like she has a great shot.
Dolvett set up a football drill for the red team, which brought back memories for Ruben, who played in high school. His mom even sent over his old football jersey, which now fits him again.
Bob is training his blue team plus Jillian’s white team. Marie wasn’t sure she could keep up with Bob but she surprised herself. “It just goes to show that all the trainers have our best interests at heart,” Marie said. Bob, on the other hand, worried out loud about Jay and Jillian in Missouri.
“Imagine all that Jillian on just one person!” Bob said, miming a snarling sock puppet to his head. “I light a candle for him every night.” Pretty hilarious.
Dolvett took Rachel to a pool to reacquaint her with the competitive swimmer she once was. She hasn’t been tested like that since she was in high school, when she turned away college scholarships to stay with a boyfriend.
Jillian got Jay to admit that his parents’ divorce and his childhood home burning down were two events that left him broken and unable to deal with the traumas. One of Jillian’s cornerstones is that in order to move ahead with your life, you must deal with your past. As for his Last Change Workout, he feels an obligation to his entire team so he’s working at full throttle.
Weigh-in and elimination: The white team has only one shot to get this right, and he feels good about it. But how’d everyone else do?
- Ruben: 2
- Jennifer: 4

- Matt: 4

Jay’s huge weight loss saved his team and that meant the red team lost the weigh-in. Ruben fell below the red line (again) and he was eliminated (again). We already know that Ruben is down more than 100 pounds from the last time we talked to him, so he’s doing great at home. “America, the next time you see me I’ll still be your Velvet Teddy Bear, just without all the stuffing,” he said with a dimpled smile.
We’ll talk with Ruben Wednesday afternoon and get an update on how much weight he’s down now.
Next week: Cupcakes and cookies and raging Jillian, oh my!
