Tonight’s “Biggest Loser” kicked off with Bobby’s update. He was eliminated last week and while he said he’s lost over 90 pounds, the exact number, as of this week, is closer to 130 pounds lost. He came out to his dad, who took the news in the best possible way. “I feel freer than I ever have in my entire life,” he said.
So who’s going home this week? Read on ...
The remaining contestants met with Alison, who told them two big things: The teams are dissolved, and they’ll be training for a triathlon, and the winner gets a spot in the finale.
The challenge: Their meeting place was a “ring of fire” challenge, where they had to hold up a bar loaded with 20 percent of their bodyweight. The winner gets a 1-pound advantage at the weigh-in. The final three – Jay, David and Rachel – held onto their poles for 90 minutes before David dropped his. Then, finally after 92 minutes, Rachel hung on and won.
And that prize came in handy because two people will be eliminated tonight.
Quote of the week, from “gold tooth” Bob: “Oh, Rachel, I’ve been wanting to sink my teeth into you for a long time!”
After the workouts, we got a peek at the sports medicine room on the “Biggest Loser” ranch. Jen had some pretty space-age inflatable leg thingies on.
Weigh-in and eliminations: Everyone’s weighing in as individuals and two of them will be below the red line. How’d they do? They’re already looking pretty fantastic
- Rachel: 4
- Chelsea: 4
- Jay: 5 (he entered One-derland)
- Marie: 5
- Tumi: 9
- David: 12
- Tanya: 7
- Hap: 5
- Jennifer: 5 (she also entered One-derland)
- Matt: 5
Matt and Hap went below the red line so they’re going home this week but they’re both thrilled with their cumulative losses.
Huge twist: After the weigh-in, when Hap and Matt were ready to say their goodbyes, the doors opened and all the eliminated contestants walked back in through the doors. Oh, hello! Not only will Hap and Matt be fighting to win their spot back in the competition, they’ll have to compete against all the eliminated contestants.
And we’ll have to wait until Tuesday, Jan. 7, to see how that turns out.
