Biggest Halloween Costume Contest In SC In Myrtle Beach

Got a Halloween pirate, space alien, princess, or _______ (fill in the blank) costume that you think is a sure-fire winner -- one that you think that, if put to the test, would win any competition?  Then perhaps you should make your way to Myrtle Beach's Broadway At The Beach, where your reward won't simply be tickets, a couple bucks, or some small trophy.  No, the Celebrity Square of Terror costume contest, billed as South Carolina's largest adult Halloween costume contest, boasts over $5,000 in prizes.

According to the official press release, the top prize for best costume will be $2,500.  Second-place will take home a prize of $1,500.  Third place: $1,000.  Not bad for a few bucks, imagination, and time spent on a creative costume.

Additionally, all attending the Celebrity Square of Terror costume contest will be allowed free admission into the Celebrity Square clubs: Broadway Louie’s, Malibu’s Surf Bar, Froggy Bottomz, Club Boca, Crocodile Rocks, Blarney Stone’s Pub & Cigar Bar, and Revolutions.

The contest officially starts at Broadway At The Beach on Saturday evening, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m., and will be hosted by DJ Alex A.

For those looking for safe Halloween fun for the kids, Broadway at the Beach announced via Facebook that trick or treating will be held early Halloween evening from 5-7 p.m.  According to the notice, children are encouraged to come and "collect all the goodies your little hands can hold."

While out at South Carolina's largest entertainment complex, be sure and toss a few coins in one (or more) of the Broadway At The Beach fountains.  At the end of October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all collected change will be donated to Caring In Our Lifetime, a local non-profit charity dedicated to helping breast cancer survivors dealing with the burden of medical expenses.

So all you adults who have a Halloween costume that you're certain is a contest winner get yourselves ready and head over to Broadway At The Beach Saturday, Oct. 29.  Who knows?  Besides having a good time, you could go home with a rather large monetary treat.
