On 20 March 2009 a Bigfoot event was arranged to search for evidence of the Mogollon Monster near the small town of Young, Arizona. Event members were Ryan Caldwell, Clay Randall, Mitchell Waite, Shannon Waite, Sterling Waite, and Jerry Waite.
The group arrived at the designated search area. It was decided the group would split into two subgroups. One group consisting of Ryan, Shannon, Sterling and Jerry would go east, and search the area around a popular meadow for any tell-tale signs of the biped. Group two would head west to hang motion sensor game cameras in the trees. The team would meet back at the vehicles in two hours.
Mitch and Clay packed up the cameras and tree/foot pegs and headed east to a small stream. This particular area had been very active in the past with movement in the brush, vocalizations, and footprints. A likely place was selected, and Mitch installed the tree spikes to climb up fifteen feet to hang the first camera. Clay was assisting, buy handing up the camera and straps.
From Mitch’s vantage point high in the tree, he saw a large dark biped pass between two trees approximately 50 yards downstream from their location. Mitch alerted Clay. The chase was on! Clay immediately started after the creature while Mitch had to climb down from the tree. This put Clay in the lead by about 50 yards, and Mitch lost sight of Clay.
It only took a few minutes to pick up Clay’s tracks. For about another fifty yards, Clay’s footprints told the story of a man running east. Mitch followed the prints down next to the creek. There he located Clay’s prints again, but this time he was not alone. A large set of footprints with toes was visible next to Clay’s boot prints. Clay was now being followed by the creature. Either Clay had picked up another Bigfoot on his tail, or the first had doubled back and was now following him.
I called Clay on the walkie-talkie, and informed him of his pursuer. Clay agreed to circle back and see if we could catch the sasquatch between the two of us. Of course, this did not work. We lost the tracks.
We went back to the vehicles to await the other group. A few hours later, the whole group searched the area, while we cast the footprints in plaster.
