Bigfoot footage is generating some big news once again, this time as researchers claim that never-before-seen video shows the big, hairy, human-like creature trekking through the woods and even peacefully sleeping in Kentucky, ABC News reported on Oct. 2.

The Bigfoot footage was screened on Tuesday at a press conference in Dallas, where researchers working with the Sasquatch Genome Project said that the new video is evidence that Bigfoot exists.

The Bigfoot footage project was spearheaded by veterinarian Melba Ketchum, who has spent five years collecting alleged Bigfoot DNA specimens in an effort to prove that Bigfoot is real, WFAA-8 reported.

The Bigfoot footage shown in Dallas came out of a group called the Erickson Project, led by Adrian Erickson and with support from the Sasquatch Genome Project. That group said it captured the "definitive video and DNA evidence from the elusive Sasquatch."

The Bigfoot footage allegedly shows a juvenile Bigfoot walking in the woods, an older Bigfoot’s face, and a sleeping Bigfoot video dating back to 2005, the Huffington Post reported. According to HuffPo, the video clips raised more questions than they answered and did nothing to further the credibility of Ketchum, whose Bigfoot research has been debunked in the past.

But according to the Erickson group, Bigfoot DNA has been collected, and the Sasquatch Genome Project claims that Bigfoot’s genome has been sequenced in a five-year DNA study.

As for the new Bigfoot footage, the researchers played only a few short clips of the alleged Bigfoot video, and most of that was grainy. More Bigfoot footage supposedly will be released for an upcoming documentary.

Most people probably have strong beliefs about the existence of Bigfoot, regardless of the purported new Bigfoot footage. Are you a Bigfoot believer?
