Bigfoot footage – reportedly the strongest video evidence to date – has been made public, so that the eyes of common folk can finally see what Sasquatch geeks and truth-seekers have known for decades: That Bigfoot is real.
ABC News on Oct. 2 reported on the so-called robust evidence, which along with the videos and photos allegedly includes actual DNA samples of the beast’s hair and blood. Of course, one look at the headshot photo immediately tells us that Bigfoot is in fact the Wookie Chewbacca, who traveled from his homeworld of Kashyyyk in search of juicy elderberries.
Monster hunters say this is, finally, indisputable proof that the legendary creature exists. Included in the video is a close up shot of what Bigfoot experts say is a “juvenile female Bigfoot sleeping.” All of the videos were shot in the backwoods of – where else – Kentucky.
This time, researchers from the Sasquatch Genome Project, really, really want us to take them, and their evidence, seriously. It’s not often that scientists have to “persuade” people (nor should they have to) that they are indeed studying a somber subject worthy of their skills.
Nevertheless, Dr. Melba Ketchum, a genetics scientist who led the $500,000, five-year project, said she “wants people to understand this is a serious study.”
The research was sent to 11 independent laboratories and universities, including New York University, University of Texas Southwestern and the North Louisiana Crime Lab. They also sent their findings to Ted Danson at CSI Las Vegas, but his publicist returned the evidence saying, “Umm this show is not a real show.”
But Ketchum is not deterred by the naysayers.
“They’re a type of people, they’re a human-hybrid, we believe. And all of the DNA evidence points to that. And they can elude us, so if you get [footage] at all, it can be fleeting,” Ketchum said.
ABC News says Ketchum admits she was a Bigfoot skeptic-turned-believer, but she is now a full-bore Bigfoot enthusiast. The photos and DNA hair sample (For a pic head over to the tabloid site NY Daily News) speak volumes. Ketchum analyzed the DNA “implementing strict protocols.”
“We soon discovered that certain hair samples — which we would later identify as purported Sasquatch samples — had unique morphology distinguishing them from typical human and animal samples,” Ketchum said of their research.
“Those hair samples that could not be identified as known animal or human were subsequently screened using DNA testing, beginning with sequencing of mitochondrial DNA followed by sequencing nuclear DNA to determine where these individuals fit in the ‘tree of life,’” Ketchum concluded.
Ketchum claims the Louisiana Crime Lab was not informed of what they were testing.
“They didn't know what they were testing,” Ketchum said. “I have one email from a tester saying ‘What have you done, discovered a new species?’”
Ketchum says Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) have been around for 13,000 years, and that over 1,000 of the lumbering creatures exist today.
However, a professor at one of the locations Ketchum sent her evidence to, completely debunks her “proof.” Todd R. Disotell, a professor at the Department of Anthropology at New York University, told ABCNews.com that Ketchum’s research is just a bunch of gobbledygook.
“This was not reported in any scientific way whatsoever,” Disotell said. “It’s complete junk science, and then she misinterprets it. She hasn’t published in peer-reviewed papers on this stuff. I don’t know how this got put together.”

Countless times, purported evidence has been hailed as the real thing, including a 1967 film of a Bigfoot, which turned out to be some dude in a monkey suit, and the 2008 incident of a Ga. man who said he had a Bigfoot in his freezer, that ended up being made of rubber.
Professor Disotell says the “evidence” stream never ends.
“You can’t prove something doesn’t exist,” he said. “You can prove that every sample you’re brought isn’t what they’re claiming, But you can’t disprove this. It will go on forever. We’ll always have it.”
