Bigfoot In Arizona, Part 5, Expedition 2, Second Day

The morning of the second day, Preston and Mitch went fishing in the creek not too far from the campground.  They did fairly well and caught six trout.  Four of the fish were prepared for breakfast while the last two trout were set aside for Bigfoot bait. A duct tape trap to be set up in the “Hot Zone” later that afternoon.

Eventually, they worked our way up the creek to the Forest Service lookout tower.  Their intention was to interview Ranger Red who inhabited the tower for six months out of the year.  Red was a very likable person and told the researchers all about the history of the peak on which the tower stood.  And he invited us up to take a look from the top.

The researchers found every time they asked Red about Bigfoot sightings, he would shake his head and politely change the subject.  Slightly prior to the researchers departing, Red commented about the ranger in the tower to the north had seen one.

Red added, “He had been riding a horse and it suddenly went bonkers.  The ranger looked up just in time to see a Bigfoot running up the mountain.  He said it would reach up and grab the pine trees pulling himself upward as it ran up the hill.  He had never seen anything like it.”

After the story Preston and Mitch said good bye and headed back to their camp.  Mitch stated, “We were expecting Alex and Tom to be there when we got back, but no one was there.  It was a strange and eerie thing when we drove into the campground.  All the scouts were gone.  Not a trace of them.  We decided to take our pick of the newly available campsites.  We had the whole campground to ourselves.”

About an hour later, Alex and Tom arrived in the camp.  The group went through introductions and set about making camp and dinner.  Alex had just came from his car and was passing in front of Mitch’s truck when a rock came crashing down from above.  The rock was not rolling down the hill, but it had been air borne.  “It caught our attention,” Mitch commented. “So we moved under the trees in case more rocks came our way.”
