This popular amalgam of a science fair and a county fair is back this year with a vast array of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students and commercial exhibitors sharing what they’ve made. Attendees can opt to enjoy the offerings on display in any type of costume they want with more common ones including DIY and upcycled clothing as well as Steampunk attire.

There are sections for costumers such as the Steampunk area in the West Green and the Swap-O-Rama-Rama in the South Lot. Swap-O-Rama-Rama has a fashion show on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the Pedal-Powered Stage in the Midway. Advance tickets are available online at: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/maker-faire-bay-area-2014-tickets-9098302267?aff=MFwbBuytix.

Whichever one you go to, you will be sure to have a great weekend costuming and seeing people in costumes. Or you can go to one on one day and the other on the next day and double the costuming fun!
