Big Things in MMA in New Orleans in 2012

These are predictions of five big things in MMA in New Orleans in 2012.

1.  Hometown hero and heavyweight Pat Barry destroys Christian Morecraft on FX on Jan 20, 2012.  Barry needs a win to keep alive his UFC career. 

2.  POWER MMA will revamp and add a wrestling program for MMA and will show up with a motivated and huge fight team.  Scott Garren a Navy wrestler will lead the charge. 3.  Ginger Leblanc of POWER Boxing, now ranked number five in the world at heavyweight will get a title shot.  After destroying her last opponent in Chalmette a month ago, fans are eager to see more action out of this huge boxing prospect.

4.  Craig Wilson who also trains at POWER MMA with coach Toby Wattigney will depart the amateur class and become a pro at heavyweight.  Anyone who has ever seen this guy move in the ring should be interested to see how he will do on his quest for greatness.

5. Promoter Carlos Mena will continue his great work with Prestige Fights and will host a rematch of Josh Davila vs. Zach Cothren.  The score is now 1-1 among the two.  The third fight of the trilogy may be the best.
