Big Ten tournament schedule 2013: Indiana Hoosiers in line for No. 1 seed

The 2013 Big Ten tournament schedule is now set as the teams jockey for seeding. The 2013 Big Ten tournament schedule tips off next Thursday (March 14) and according to the updated standings from Tuesday morning (March 5), the Indiana Hoosiers are close to clinching the No. 1 seed.

Indiana currently has a 13-3 conference mark and can clinch the regular season conference title with a win over the No. 14 Ohio State Buckeyes on Tuesday night. An upset by the Buckeyes could throw the entire conference into turmoil, though, as four schools are tied with an 11-5 record so far. No matter what happens in the game, Indiana gets another chance against the Michigan Wolverines on Sunday (March 10).

As it stands, Michigan State is No. 2 in the conference, followed by Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Michigan in that order. With all of the top five schools in the conference having two games this week, things could really get shaken up by next weekend. That is when the official seeding will be decided, dictating which teams have the easiest route to the Big Ten Championship Game.

The one known fact in all this is that Penn State will be the No. 12 seed with only one win in conference play so far. The final week is very important because the top four teams get byes into the second round of the conference tournament schedule.
