The 2014 Big Ten Tournament live stream and TV schedule will feature four games today including Purdue taking on the defending tournament champion Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeyes have seemed to take a few steps back this season, but you can't count anyone out in these conference tournaments, especially a team that has a player as good as OSU's Aaron Craft. Craft has the ability to lead OSU to a Big Ten title and a deep run in the 2014 March Madness tournament.
According to a buckeyextra.com report on March 12, Craft was once again named the defensive player of the year in the Big Ten Conference. This is the second time in three seasons that Craft has won the award. OSU coach Thad Matta believes that Craft deserves even more praise for his great play.
“I’m going to be highly disappointed if he’s not the national defender of the year,” Matta said on his radio show last night. “Winning this in this league is a heck of an honor, but I’ve been saying it for three years now that he is the best defender in college basketball. Maybe I need to get a billboard or something because nobody ever listens to me. But hopefully that will be an honor he gets in April.”
Right now Craft and the Buckeyes aren't thinking about individual awards, they want another Big Ten tournament trophy and an automatic bid to the NCAA March Madness Tournament.
The Buckeyes finished 23-8 on the regular season, but only 10-8 in conference play. They should have no problem advancing to the second round vs. the Purdue Boilermakers, who finished last in the Big 10. Purdue finished 15-16 overall and a league worst 5-13 in Big Ten conference play.
This should be an easy win for the Buckeyes, but the tournament is always full of surprises.
Las Vegas odds makers have Ohio State posted as an 8 point favorite with the over/under number set at 129.
If this game was at Ohio State, the line would most likely be 12 or 13. In the end Craft and the Buckeyes should pull away and win by 10 or more.
Pick: Ohio State -8
