The Michigan Wolverines traveled to Big Ten Conference rivals Minnesota on Jan. 17, 2013, with hopes of making the most of a chance to stake their claim to a higher ranking before next week's new poll comes out.
Thanks to an inspired performance from Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke, who scored 18 points off of the bench, the Wolverines made the night count as they came away 83-75 winners on the road.
Michigan appeared in control all night as they took a controlling 36-30 lead into the locker room at half time and continued their strong play in the second half once again outscoring their opponents this time 47-45 in a lively end to the game.
Minnesota's bench performance was excellent as their starting five only combined for 20 of the teams 75 points with substitute guard Austin Hollins scoring 21 points alone off the bench for the Golden Gophers.
The Wolverines will look to keep the same formula in their next game while Minnesota has some shuffling around to do in order to prevent this same kind of off night for the starting line up.
