Super Bowl Sunday is tomorrow, as I'm sure you're aware. If you're not watching the game at a house party, there are a number of options around town to see it.
Starting at the Power and Light District, Lucky Strike (1370 Grand) is having a watch party and after party. It starts at 4 and $5 gets you in. They'll be having a DJ, football-themed menu, T-shirt toss, and local athletes. If you go, say hi to Devon for me.
Grinders in the Crossroads District (415 E. 18th St.) is having a $10 all-you-can eat special, with chili, tacos, hot dogs, and wings, with the game being shown on their big screen. I might need some antacid after typing that last sentence.
Speaking of ungodly amounts of food, The Brooksider (6330 Brookside Plaza) is having what they call "The Cock's Cock Wing Challenge 2010". For $15, the first 50 people to enter eat as many Atomic Dog wings as they can in 15 minutes. First place gets you a trophy and $300, second place gets you $150, and third gets you $50. This takes place during halftime, and God help the plumbing.
Finally, Hannibal's in Waldo (7438 Wornall) is serving up half price appetizers and 24 oz. Miller Lite and Coors Light specials, and you keep the glass.
Remember, the game starts at 5:30, although there are a million things going on before it. I know the sentimental favorite is the Saints, but if you're going to throw money down (you know, if gambling were legal in this country) take the Colts. Bet with your head. Be safe.
