Big Sandy signs with Northampton record label, Cow Island

Good news for Northampton, MA-based record label, Cow Island Music. The little record label that champions honky-tonk, rockabilly, swing and country western announced a new addition to its roster — Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys.

The Anaheim, CA-based band celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and to commemorate this milestone, the band re-recorded twelve of their classic originals for a new acoustic album, What A Dream It's Been, to be released later this summer on their new label. Each song gets a new treatment, from doo-wop, honky-tonk, swing and more all wrapped up in Big Sandy's soulful voice.

Bill Hunt, Cow Island Music's founder, says the signing of Big Sandy is the perfect fit for his label and very sentimental to him. The band was a favorite of his late wife, Marci Kearney, who passed away three years ago.
