“Big Rich Texas” star Bon Blossman is outraged that “Big Brother 15’s” Aaryn Gries blamed her Southern upbringing in the Lone Star state for racist comments she was seen making during her time in the “Big Brother” house, according to an Aug. 31, 2013 TMZ report.
After being evicted on Thursday’s live episode, Aaryn was interviewed by Julie Chen about her offensive statements, with Julie reading back some of them to her.
Julie stated, “Referring to Candice you said, ‘Be careful what you say in the dark, might not be able to see the b****,’ referring to Helen you said, ‘Shut up! Go make some rice,’ and referring to Andy you said, ‘no one’s going to vote for whoever that q**** puts up.’”
It was apparent that Aaryn was caught off guard and she apologized for her statements, but also said she did not remember making them.
In addition, she said “Being Southern is a stereotype...” and “I feel like in Texas like we say things… sometimes we joke and we don’t mean it and I really feel bad that this is how it’s being seen…”
Bon told TMZ, “This is NOT how we were raised in Texas… I watched ‘Big Brother’ this season, and was embarrassed that [Aaryn] brought such negative attention to one of the most friendly, welcoming states in the United States.”
She added, “Aaryn’s comments were an outrage.”
Bon continued, “This type of behavior is not tolerated by anybody that I know… and I was born and raised in Texas… We can’t ignore behavior like that or she won’t learn.”
Aaryn is currently in the “Big Brother” jury house and won’t know until the season is over in mid-September that due to her comments she was dropped from her Austin modeling agency.
CBS' “Big Brother” airs Wednesdays and Sundays at 8 pm ET, and Thursdays at 9 pm.
