Big Pun Set to Be Honored With a Concert in Connecticut

Christopher Lee Rios, better known as Big Pun (short for Big Punisher), was a Puerto Rican rapper who wowed underground rap fans in the late 90’s with his quick rhymes and gift of word play. He first appeared on albums from The Beatnuts in 1997, and on Fat Joe's second album Jealous One's Envy in 1995, on the track "Watch Out", prior to signing to Loud Records as a solo artist.  His albums Capital Punishment and Yeeeah Baby are still popular with his fans today.  Sadly, during the prime of his musical career, Big Pun died of a heart attack at age 28.

Club International on 16 Broad Street in New Britain is about to make history on Saturday, February 4th, as they will be hosting a never before seen tribute concert in honor of the late rapper who passed on February 7, 2000.  Tony Touch will be the DJ that night, and there will be performances by Tony Sunshine, Cuban Link, and a first time ever performance by Big Pun’s son himself, Chris Rivers.  There will also be a guest appearance by Pun’s wife, Liza Rios to honor his legacy.
