Big news on the General Hospital front

With the good news that General Hospital will be renewed for the next year 2014-2015, comes other good news.

Ric Lansing

First Ron Carlivati has signed another contract. He tweeted the great news “Great news for #GH! And I just signed a new contract! So happy to be staying with@ABCNetwork & @GeneralHospital! It only makes sense since he has accomplished the near impossible, bringing the soap back to it’s heyday numbers, and made it the best it has been in over seven years.

Good news grows as we learn that the wonderful Rick Hearst will be coming home to Port Charles. He brings Ric Lansing, Sonny’s brother back to town and one can only wonder if he will be involve in the mob wars heating PC up right now.
As per Soap Opera Digest, Rick will first air on the upcoming February 24th episode! And when fans last saw Ric Lansing in 2009, he was headed out to Los Angeles, but left with these parting words: “Don’t worry about me. I’ll be back.” We an hardly wait!

Speaking of the mob wars things will heat up next week as we see guns in all the major players hands. Julian, Sonny, Ava and Morgan all ready for a fight but whose side is Morgan on?

And lastly, another return of a fan favorite is Ilene Kristen, reprising her Ryan’s Hope role of Delia Ryan Coleridge who has turned out to be Ava Jerome’s mother. We last saw her in October when Sam and Silas paid a visit to NYC where Ryans Bar is located.

When asked by SOD when Delia will return Frank Valentini replied, ” She’s back very soon. Ilene did a fantastic job and Delia is an important character. I think her return will show viewers another side to Ava.”
Maura West added to that comment stating, “Ilene is fantastic and I look forward to having scenes with her. That mother/daughter relationship is one I would love to see fleshed out.”

So GH is in full swing and heading into February Sweeps with a full cast ready for all of the drama and mayhem associated with Port Charles.
