Big Moon Rocket Bio:
Hailing from Tampa Bay, Florida, Big Moon Rocket’s infectious original pop-rock doesn’t sound like something from outer space. But their down-to-earth formula of vocals, guitars, bass and drums injected with meaningful lyrics, tasty guitar riffs, and solid grooves may crash land in your psyche!
Their “rocket music” could be described as pop-rock meets jam band, with just a hint of alternative, hip-hop and reggae. And, while hard to put your finger on, the style is one that is familiar, yet refreshing.
Formed in 2008, the Big Moon Rocket crew consists of lead singer Tony Montanez, guitar players Jamie Cunningham and Don Burns, Rich Adams on bass, and Scott Davis on drums. Each member draws on their own background and tastes to help shape their sound.
Their debut E.P, Countdown, is a self produced endeavor that includes six all new tracks. The radio-friendly opener, “Live Forever,” is sure to get your attention with its universal message and catchy guitar riffs. And the crowd favorite, “I Can See the Sun,” a dynamic power-ballad about new beginnings is guaranteed to please. Other tracks include upbeat rockers, “One Way Jose” and “Everything’s Up.” “You’ve Got,” a lullaby anyone with children can relate to, and “Beat Me Down,” a song about escape from bad situations.
With their EP complete, Big Moon Rocket is back to hitting the local music scene, playing at local venues, and gaining new fans every step of the way. They are ready for lift-off and poised to make a big impact on the Tampa Bay music scene.
