Saturday, February 16, 2013, has plenty going on. Check out Vendor Row. You can find everything from food to equipment and clothing in between. Get your picture taken with a vintage snow machine at East Lake Mall. This is a fund raiser for Houston High School BPA to go to a national competition. Take the North American Outdoor Institute Safety Challenge by visiting their stations. Check out the Vintage Snowmachine & Iron Dog History Display - located in the East Lake Mall. Watch the Junior and Businessman dog sled races. Sign up for the Bunny Boot Bling and Ugliest Boot contest. Experience the
1st Annual Winter Fest Broom Ball Tournament at the Big Lake Lion’s Rec Center. Big Lake Chamber of Commerce Beer Garden opens in the Main Event Tent opens at 2 p. m. Big Fungus will present a concert in the evening hours to benefit Big Lake’s Food Pantry. At 6:30, Light Up The Ice, fireworks display will be shown.
On Sunday, many of the vendors and displays will still be there. A free pancake and biscuit and gravy breakfast in the Winter Fest Main Event Tent. To top off the weekend, the famous Iron Dog Snowmobile Race starts on Big Lake. Ceremonies begin Sunday, February 17th. at 11:00 a. m. Go and Enjoy yourself.
