The band Big In Iowa, on the heels of an informal reunion, has decided to have a more performance. The band will be performing at the Autism Rocks show scheduled for February 10, 2013 at Peg's Pub on Reading Road in Evendale. The show will feature some of the best local Cincinnati bands like Sonny Moorman, Prizoner, Dallas Moore, Stagger Lee and others.
It is not often when I become part of the story, but I will be playing bass for Big In Iowa. The band's original bass player, Cincinnati disk jockey, Ken Glidewell was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident several years ago. Since I had filled in for the band a couple of times, back in the day and probably because my brother is their guitar player, I have been asked to fill in.
The event is a non-profit fundraiser for autism awareness, research and cure and will feature a silent auction and raffles. All together nine bands are performing and the event will start at 12 p.m.. Admission for the show is $20 and $10 for children 12 and under.
