The 2012 high school basketball tournament is only one month away.
Many teams have games on Friday night that could go a long ways in determining if they will be playing in that tournament.
The Bucksport Bucks boys basketball team has eight games remaining on the schedule. Five of those including their game against the Dexter Tigers on Friday have a lot of heal points that go along with them.
The Tigers are 7-4 and have moved up to third in the class C heal point standings thanks to winning five out of their last six including defeating previously undefeated Penquis 58-54 on January 7th.
The Nokomis Warriors boys basketball team will be hosting the 8-1 Oceanside Mariners. Nokomis (5-4) currently sit 10th in the class B heal point standings.
The Hampden Broncos boys basketball team will looks to improve their record to 10-0 when they host Brunswick.
The most anticipated match-up of the night may be going on in Fairfield. Lawrence (8-1) will be hosting Edward Little (8-0).
Oceanside (8-1) and Nokomis (9-0) highlight the girls basketball action. The second seeded Mariners will be hosting the third seeded Warriors for a scheduled 6:30 p.m. start.
