Big Freedia makes Baltimore debut

Cullen Stalin presents Big Freedia, DJ Rusty Lazer and EMYND Wednesday, May 19th at The Talking Head Club in Baltimore. Big Freedia is a queer New Orleans-based rapper and the pionerr of the “Sissy Bounce” movement which can be described as a proud and flamboyant subgenre of hip-hop that is prominent in Louisiana. “Sissy Bounce” is gaining momentum and spreading quickly outside of its home turf.

DJ Rusty Lazer, also of Louisiana, specializes in street music. During one set expect to hear beats stretching from the Mardi Gras Indians, Hot Jazz from the early 20th century, Twists from the 50's, Soul and R&B from the 60's and 70's, Brass Band jams and even the more modern sound of Hip Hop and Bounce.

The show starts at 9 p.m., Wednesday, May 19th at the Talking Head Club located at 407 East Saratoga Street in Baltimore. Please use the side entrance. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door. This show is 18+.
