The 2013 Big East tournament brackets presented two big upsets on Thursday (March 14). The biggest Big East tournament bracket upset came from Notre Dame, as the Fighting Irish knocked off the 24-7 Marquette Golden Eagles. After beating Rutgers in the second round, Notre Dame looked to have a tough road to the semifinals. Led by Pat Connaughton and Jerian Grant, though, the team really took care of business.

In the other upset game, Syracuse beat Pittsburgh to advance to the semifinals as well. The top two seeds (Georgetown and Louisville) easily took care of business against Cincinnati and Villanova, which now means they are going to receive favorable match-ups in the semifinal games. Both semifinal games are set to take place on Friday evening (March 15) and they are Georgetown vs. Syracuse and Louisville vs. Notre Dame.
The road to the championship game has grown even closer in the 2013 Big East tournament brackets with a possible No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament also on the line. Both semifinal games will be shown on ESPN, with the first tipping off at about 7 pm ET and the second one taking place shortly after that.
