The Big East Tournament 2013 bracket schedule brings a third round to a storied rivalry in the conference during the semifinals, as it'll be Syracuse vs. Georgetown live streaming online and televised. The Hoyas have owned the Orange this season, but Jim Boeheim's squad will be looking for a big win to advance to the finals tonight.
According to ESPN.com on March 15, this could be the last time these teams meet for quite some time. Next season, Syracuse heads to the ACC while Georgetown will be a part of a new Big East conference. To get to this big rematch, Syracuse was able to defeat Pittsburgh on Thursday with a 3-point victory, 62-59, while Georgetown crushed Cincinnati 62-43. Now the Orange and Hoyas meet once again, with Georgetown a 1 point favorite in terms of the odds.
Brandon Triche of Syracuse said of tonight's matchup and the history between these teams:
"I want it a lot. Them beating us twice, not too many teams have done that. I remember beating them twice, and the third time they beat us. That was in the Big East tournament. We're trying to pretty much return the favor."
Back on February 23, freshman Otton Porter had 33 points as the Hoyas defeated Syracuse 57-46. Syracuse is hoping for some redemption heading into the NCAA tournament, and potentially a higher seed on Selection Sunday with a win.
Tonight's Big East Tournament 2013 semifinals game between Syracuse and Georgetown goes live at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN. Additionally, this game is slated to be live streaming online via the WatchESPN/ESPN3 website. Unfortunately, most of the Eastern half of the United States is blacked out on the map in terms of the online video feed, with the West Coast, Hawaii and Alaska able to see the live stream.
Roanoke viewers can watch tonight's game on ESPN via Cox Cable channel 25.
