Sometimes you come across names of musical groups that are to say the least, different. Sometimes they are unique and sometimes just strange. However, the name Big Drum, Small World for Kids is different and kind of cool. On Saturday, January 25, at 1:30pm and 3:30pm they will perform at the Haugh Performing Arts Center on the campus of Citrus College. The address is 1000 West Foothill Boulevard in Glendora.
The concert is a family oriented event and it will feature music that fuses American jazz with music of a variety of countries including West Africa, Israel, Cuba, Puerto Rico and India. They use fun and short videos and kids are definitely invited, however, children younger than 4 may get restless at times. Big Drum, Small World for Kids features the Metta Quintet "live" from New York City. You may purchase tickets in person at the Haugh Performing Arts Center box office Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 4pm or one hour before the performance. Tickets may be purchased by phone at 626-963-9411 and you may charge them to your Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express card.
Citrus College trains and develops students to excel in the world of arts and entertainment. A concert such as this is nice to see, especially when children can be a part of it. This is a show where you can take your family and really have a lot of fun. There will be something for everyone. It is another opportunity to go out and see and hear some live jazz.
