Big Dogs, Fat Cats, pasta and more on August 25-26

Wow, this weekend is just jam packed with fun things for you to do with your pet. Saturday has two big events on opposite ends of town. The Big Dog Fat Cat Festival to benefit Southside Animal Shelter is on Saturday. It will be held in Perry Park on the Southside of Indy from 11 AM-7 PM. Admission is $3 and 18 and under are free. They will have several pet contests, live music from a wide variety of local artists including Jennie DeVoe, adoptable pets, games and food.

Also on Saturday, the Humane Society for Hamilton County will hold one of their biggest events of the year. Dog Day afternoon featuring Woofstock will run from 3-8 PM at a new location this year. The event will be on the South lawn of the Palladium. HSHC is requesting a $5 donation from attendees. Children under ten and pets are free and there are plenty of activities for the whole family. Food, music, pet contests, a pet fashion show and Rupert from Survivor are all on the event schedule.

Saturday is also the day for Ride to Rescue. This is a festival and ride to end dog fighting that is sponsored by Casa del Toro. The ride starts at Harley Davidson West in Plainfield with registration from 8:30-9:30 AM. The free festival kicks off at noon at the Hendricks County Senior Services Center. This event is a people only event and will run until 5 PM.

The Milano Inn has a very busy weekend planned. Saturday night is Dollars for Dempsey from 5:30-8:30 PM. 10% of all sales in the restaurant will go back to Dempsey to help pay for his surgeries as he recovers from burns. Sunday evening, 10% of sales will go back to help ICAN. Pets are welcome on the patio and fresh water and treats will be provided. Stop by and enjoy a great view of downtown while having an incredible dinner with your pet.
