Big city sophisticated Italian food in Cleveland, Tn: Cafe' Roma (Video)

Cleveland, Tennessee is a little industrial town on the Trail of Tears in Tennessee. Best known for Cleveland stoves and an M & M/Mars plant that makes half of the famous candies, you wouldn't expect to find an elegant Italian cafe' in town. Cafe' Roma is a whole universe into itself, with its exposed brick walls and house-made food. I was very happy to be given the chance to experience it!

I started with a small house salad for lunch; I always feel like when I'm traveling, I can never get enough fresh greens. Their house dressing is lemon vinaigrette with a clean, refreshing, natural flavor.

Their lunch special that day was a hearty flat iron steak on pappadelle. It received a flavor-intense and innovative treatement: dried cherries, shiitake mushrooms, shallots and Gorgonzola cream sauce. The meat and sweetened mushroom sauce went very well together.

They make a different ice cream daily. That day's flavor was Thai tea. The tea flavor sneaks up on you and the ice cream was pleasantly sweet.
