Christmas celebration differs from one place to another place. Some people celebrate Christmas in a modest way, no lavish decorations and no grand preparations. Meanwhile, others exert much effort to make each Christmas celebration unique and majestic.

When talking about celebrating Christmas in a big way, some towns in the US attract hundreds of visitors from different parts of the world because of their holiday tradition. As compared to big cities, these towns are pretty modest with regard to modernization. However, these US towns have created a name in terms of Christmas celebration. Wonder what makes them the most Christmassy US towns?

Frankenmuth, Michigan

With a population of less than 5,000, you might think there is nothing interesting in Frankenmuth. But you got it wrong. This modest town in Michigan takes Christmas holiday very seriously.

One famous attraction in Frankenmuth is the self-proclaimed biggest Christmas store in the world - the Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland. The store is about the size of 1 ½ football fields which include a half-mile long Christmas lane, a Silent Night Memorial Chapel and a station where you can make your own decorations. Hence, visitors will not only find a wide variety of Christmas items but can personalized them too. Aside from this store, there are other things in town that can enhance Christmas spirit.

McAdenville, North Carolina

When the calendar turns to December 1, Christmas spirit is everywhere in McAdenville. This small town in North Carolina indeed celebrates Christmas in a very grand way. Even with a small population of approximately 654, this modest town transforms into the brightest place in the US as it flaunts enormous light displays for 26 days. No wonder why it snatched the most coveted title Christmas Town USA.

McAdenville glimmers and glistens with more than 375 decorated trees all over town. In addition to these lights, the Christmas Town also boasts at least 200 wreaths fastened to lampposts, a display of Santa and his reindeer as well as a life-size Nativity set. Visitors can enjoy a very colorful light show nearby a local church. With all of these, there is always a reason to visit McAdenville during holiday season.

Woodstock, Vermont

Every year, residents of Woodstock (about 3,232) are transported back in time as they celebrate Christmas in Medieval way. In today’s time, it is quite a challenge to carry out an old fashioned festival. Hence, this Christmas celebration in Vermont is indeed a must-see event.

One of the most exciting Christmas activities in Woodstock is the parade of more than 50 horses during the Wassail Weekend. During this day, a number of equestrians parade the street in their traditional costumes which add more color to the celebration. Other events during Christmas in this town include a craft fair, luminary lighting and a yule log fire. To bring justice to its old-fashioned theme, the whole town is decorated with traditional wreaths and pine garlands.

All these towns showcase that despite their modesty, they can celebrate Christmas just like those big cities. It is not just about those stunning over-the-top light extravaganza and spectacular decorations; but it is also about how the residents celebrate Christmas wholeheartedly.

That is why many visitors are enticed to check out these towns during holiday season. Tourists will not have to worry about where to stay as these towns house several accommodation from 5-star hotels, like Palms Casino Resort in Vegas, and affordable guesthouses. So celebrating Christmas is surely a memorable experience to be cherished forever.
