On July 7, 2014, the Power of Veto ceremony was held to determine whether the winner of the awesome medallion was going to use it on one of the house guests nominated for eviction, or whether the nominations would remain the same. Whenever the POV is used, it requires the current Head of Household to nominate another cast mate for eviction to replace the person who was saved.
Spoilers garnered from those watching live feeds broadcast from inside the “Big Brother” house indicate that leading up to the POV ceremony, all house guests, even those somewhat aligned with Devin, were worried about what he was going to do, according to Joker’s Updates. In the end, Devin decided to use the POV on Brittany and replace her with one of his Bomb Squad alliance members, Zach.
Joker’s reports that from the reactions of the house guests after the live feeds returned, Zach apparently called out several members of his alliance during the POV ceremony. Zach told Hayden in front of Derrick about the Bomb Squad and Joker’s live feeders note that the other alliance members were “flipping out over it.”
According to Big Brother Network, just days before, Devin, who at the time was sharing the title of HOH with Amber, made a deal with Paola after he nominated for eviction. He told her that if she threw the Battle of the Block and ensured he won final HOH, if he won the veto, he would use it on her. As a result, Amber was dethroned and Devin remained HOH. Nonetheless, Devin was seen having an uber long conversation with Brittany on TVGN’s “Big Brother: After Dark,” which is likely when he was swayed to her side and determined he would save her with the POV.
Also revealed on Sunday, Frankie and Derrick joined Donny to make up “Big Brother’s” Team America. According to Joker’s, after learning the news Frankie said something to the effect of “Look at us! We’re America!” The 3-person team would have included Joey, but she was evicted last week.
“Big Brother” season 16 airs on Sundays at 8/7c, Wednesdays at 8/7c, with live eviction shows airing on Thursdays at 9/8c on CBS. In addition, “Big Brother: After Dark” is airing Monday and Tuesday nights at 11/10c, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at 12/11c, and Thursdays at 1/12c on TVGN.
